During our initial consultation, we will discuss your therapy goals and expectations. In order to best support you, it’s important to learn about your life and the challenges you are facing; therefore, you will also be asked for a detailed medical and mental health history. With this information, we will create a plan of action that will focus on  the best approach for you, the client. By the end of the first session, you and your therapist will be able to agree upon a treatment plan tailored to your individual needs and concerns.

Once therapy has begun, you can expect full support during the therapy and healing process. My goal is to help you feel confident in my ability to support you through tough times and to be able to talk about these moments safely and honestly without judgement or fear of discrimination. It is important to understand and to recognize that people with even extreme experiences have the ability to recover fully and flourish because of these experiences, not despite them. Sometimes, all you need is a little support from someone who understands.

Your privacy is my priority and above all, you must be able to trust your therapist. We follow practices to ensure that your personal information stays private and we never share information about you without your written consent. For more information about The Butterfly Effect's Privacy and Confidentiality policies, please follow the link below:

frequently asked questions

Do you offer free consultations?

We offer free consultations to help you better understand what services might be a good fit for your needs and how we can best help you to live better. We are happy to speak with you about your needs and answer any questions you may have before making your first appointment.

How does counseling work?

People seek therapy and coaching for a variety of reasons. Our services can help people to better understand their emotions, why they might take certain actions in reaction to those emotions, and other insights. We focus on creating a safe, private atmosphere that promotes trust and openness during private therapy and coaching sessions.

Does what I say stay confidential?

Yes. Therapy and coaching sessions are confidential, as is the information shared between client and therapist. We only share private and confidential information in rare exceptions when the safety of a client or someone else is at risk. Please visit our privacy and confidentiality policies page for more information by clicking here.

The Butterfly Effect Therapy & Wellness is committed to doing their best work for each client. As you may expect, when you set up a session that time is blocked off just for you.  If you are not able to attend, this time that was dedicated for you is now unable to be filled with another person seeking services.  We know that emergencies happen on occasion, but please be respectful of your practitioners time that has been reserved for you.  If you need to reschedule, please allow 24 hours’ notice so we can offer that time to another person needing service. A fee will be assessed for all appointments not canceled accordingly.
